Definition

Size of discrete segregations that have accumulated in the soil because of the concentration of some constituent, usually by chemical or biological action. Approximately equidimensional segregations (concretions, nodules) are measured in the greatest dimension. Segregations where one dimension is much greater than the other two (tubules, root linings, veins, laminae) are measured in the least dimension.
